Day 1: London - Oxford – Blenheim Palace

Departing from London. Sit back and enjoy the drive through the English countryside on route to our first stop, the charming university town of Oxford. It is known as 'the City of Dreaming Spires' and is the oldest university in the English-speaking world. We will enjoy a walking tour of this historic city, and stroll through the streets surrounded by bright stoned buildings, absorbing a sense of tradition and history. Discover the tiny alleyways and windy back roads that likely inspired Lewis Carroll when he wrote Alice in Wonderland. There are an impressive 36 colleges that make up the university and you'll have a chance to wander through the courtyards and quadrangles of some of the famous colleges; including Christ Church College which would be familiar to Harry Potter fans as many scenes were filmed here. We'll have time to stop by the Bodleian Library, which was used as Hogwarts Library, and the famed Radcliffe Camera. Bodleian is the main reach library of the university and one of the oldest in Europe. It holds over 12 million items and is the second largest library in the United Kingdom after the British library in London.

Later on, we leave Oxford and travel onwards to Blenheim Palace. It is considered one of the finest baroque houses in England. Sir Winston Churchill was born in the Palace in 1874. Inside the Palace can be found a superb collection of tapestries, paintings, porcelain and furniture in the magnificent State Rooms. Surrounding the palace are over 2,000 acres of beautiful parkland, lakes, fountains and gardens.

Day 2: Stratford - Upon - Avon - Warwick

We set off for the pretty market town of Stratford-upon-Avon where you will visit the half-timbered birthplace of William Shakespeare. Walk in the footsteps of the magnificent playwright, poet and actor; William Shakespeare, as you enjoy a fascinating visit to Shakespeare’s Birthplace. Hear tales of his family and life in Tudor England.

Late on, we head to Warwick Castle which is 15 – 20 minutes’ drive from Stratford Upon Avon. Dating back to 914 AD, it has stood as an impressive Medieval Fortress on the banks of the river Avon for the last 1100 years. The castle has survived the changing fortunes of history and remains one of the most well-preserved Medieval castles in the UK. A visit to Warwick Castle is a must on any visit to Shakespeare’s England.

Day 3: Cotswolds ( Stow-on-the-Wold/Lower Slaughter/Burton-on-Water/Bibury)

The Cotswolds is an area of outstanding natural beauty which is characterised by rolling hills, medieval villages and picture perfect thatched cottages made of yellow Cotswold stone made prosperous by the historic wool trade. With a variety of different villages there is something to see around every corner of the Cotswold’s, an area bursting with colour. Today, we will start our tour by visiting a small market town called Stow-on-the Wold and then visit the historic and charming village of lower slaughter. Next on the tour is Bourton-on-the-Water known as the 'Little Venice' of the Cotswold’s which sits on the River Windrish. which is regularly voted one of the prettiest villages in England. Spend some time in this lovely little village and you'll understand why.

We will also stop in one of the most photographed cottage settings which is found in Bibury. Stop by the 16th century cottages of Arlington Row which are framed perfectly by sweeping meadow and a brook that runs alongside it. It's no surprise that this little village has been featured in so many films that try to capture quaint old England.

Day 4: Bath - Stonehenge - London

On our final day of the tour we will first stop in the Georgian city of Bath, which is without doubt one of the major highlights for anyone travelling around the UK. A city so beautiful and special that it has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. On the walking tour learn about its Roman history and the city’s rebirth in Georgian times including its triumph of architecture in the beautiful Royal Crescent. Also, see the only bridge in the UK and one of three in the world that has buildings on both sides. Many religious buildings such as Bath Abbey are also available to visit. There are many street entertainers in the city Center, shops of all types and of course many restaurants and cafes. In the afternoon, we set off for our final stop of the tour; the legendry and mythical Stonehenge site. Explore the mythical standing stones, the Neolithic Houses and the fascinating exhibition which is home to over 250 ancient objects and treasures, including jewellery, pottery and tools. Witness the iconic Neolithic stone structure of the Standing Stones and gaze in awe at the capabilities of our ancestors. Stonehenge is one of the oldest prehistoric sites in Europe and is also a UN World Heritage Site. The site was first started in 3100BC and was in use until 300AD, almost 3500 years ago. Finally, your experience with us is almost at an end. We then leave Stonehenge and travel through the counties of England onwards to London where this tour ends.
