Cliffs of Moher

The key to the heart of the Wild Atlantic Way, the Cliffs of Moher stretch for about 8 kilometres (5 miles) and stand 214 metres above the Atlantic. This magnificent Cliffs of Moher day tour leaving from Dublin leads you to this iconic landmark with breath-taking views of the coast. After a refreshing stroll listening to the crashing waves and searching for the seated woman in the south, we will continue to explore Co. Clare. You then get to experience the picturesque village of Doolin. Take a short walk in the Burren taking in the raw beauty of the area. Wild orchards bloom in this national park with a foundation of karst and limestone. The Cliffs of Moher tour doesn't finish here you then get to visit the ruins of Irelands most ornate Corcomroe Abbey.

We arrive at the main highlight of our cliffs of Moher tour the Cliffs! We have the chance to explore this beautiful landmark. Take in the amazing vistas from this vantage point. You have an hour and a half to take in all that the cliffs have to offer. Walk along the cliff tops, see O'Brien's Tower and admire this scenic location. Included in the price is entrance to the Cliffs and an interactive presentation which is shown in the visitor’s centre. There is also a gift shop for the shoppers amongst you! Take your time and enjoy the landscape as this is the highlight of your tour. These magnificent formations will leave an unforgettable impression on your mind and will no doubt be one of the highlights of your visit to Ireland.

The Burren

The next highlight on the Cliffs of Moher tour is the Burren, a karst/limestone area with a unique ecosystem producing beautiful wild orchids. The word "Burren" comes from an Irish word, "Boíreann," meaning a rocky place. An appropriate name! Admire the view from the top of the hill if you’re game to walk up the rocky hill face to the top. You can also walk down to the cliffs to see the ocean swirling beneath you. Just don’t step too close to the edge! It is almost like taking a walk on the moon as you traverse the lunar surface. After a drive through one of Ireland's national parks, you will visit Corcomroe Abbey, a 12th century abbey set in lush green surroundings. The architecture and stone carvings are an impressive sight, taking us back into historic times. You can walk inside the abbey, it is a ruin but quite well preserved and home to lovely carvings.
