Leeds Castle

Departing from London our first stop is Leeds Castle, described by Lord Conway as “the loveliest castle in the world.” It's a fairytale setting. Situationed in the middle of a natural lake where black and white swans swim peacefully, and castle is surrounded by 500 acres of parkland and gardens, you will enter the castle and learn why in Norman times it was called the Ladies' castle due to the fact six medieval queens called Leeds their home. Experience the castles magic in an atmosphere of still tranquillity. There will also be time to explore the castle grounds, where you will find the Lady Baillie Garden, with views over the lake. You may also enjoy the aviary, maze and castle vineyards.

Canterbury

Canterbury and the historic Canterbury Cathedral. The most important Anglican church in the world. This house of worship is the seat of one of two archbishops of the Church of England. The centreal Bell Harry Tower dates to 1498, and the crypt is from the 11th-Century. Find the candle that marks the spot of the shrine for Archbishop Thomas Beckett whom in 1170 was said to be murdered after a dispute with King Henry II. Along the way you will walk through centries past to the Trinity Chapel and Quire and down to the 11th Centry crypt and through the Nave with it's beautiful gothic architecture. On leaving the Cathedral you'll have ample time to explore the narrow streets nearby, with an opportunity to stop for lunch.
